CARLOS

The third born of the Wilson brothers, Carlos was also born in Panama and immigrated to Brooklyn, where he grew up in the Bed-Stuy area.

Carlos plays trombone, flute, guitar, saxophone, harmonica, timbales, congas, percussion, and is also a vocalist with Mandrill. In high school he was the first trombonist in the New York All City Orchestra. He is also a Vietnam War veteran of the Navy. Carlos taught himself to play the flute and perfected his guitar skills while in the Navy. During the war he experienced the loss of many of his close friends in combat. Carlos is one of the featured vocalists for Mandrill. He graduated from Mannes College of music, where he honed his skills in composition and arranging.
