STACEY LAMONT SYDNOR
Stacey Lamont Sydnor, a classically trained musician, was influenced by the sounds of Traditional (Quartet) Gospel. His professional career began at the age of fifteen as he toured with Gospel artists, The Heavenly Five and The Pilgrim Jubilees of Chicago. He went on to perform in the US Marine Corps Band, attaining the position of Principal Percussionist in just under two years of service. Stacey Lamont Sydnor is a dynamic drummer proficient in a variety of genres including Funk, Jazz, Pop, Rock, R&B, Hip-Hop, Gospel and Latin. His superior knowledge of music theory and his innate feel for a “perfect pocket” has landed him a premiere spot on stage, on television and in films, performing with an array of legendary artists and young rising stars.
Stacey Lamont Sydnor’s drum talents have afforded him the opportunity to work with Hip-Hop artists Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Flo-Rida, Busta Rhymes and P. Diddy; Smooth Jazz artists Jonathan Butler, Keiko Matsui, George Duke, Marcus Johnson, Althea Rene, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and the late Wayman Tisdale; R&B and Soul artists Earth Wind & Fire, Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson, Jermaine Jackson, Layla Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Gladys Knight, Jill Scott, Melanie Fiona, Teedra Moses, Faith Evans, Stevie Wonder, Michelle Williams, Macy Gray, Denise Williams, Shirley Murdoch, Tank, Avant, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Howard Hewitt; Pop Stars Hillary Duff, Robbie Williams, and Daniel Powter; Motown legends The Temptations; Funk Legends Sly Stone, Heatwave, the S.O.S. Stacey Lamont Sydnor‘s credits include major films and television shows.
He recently performed on the three Grammy wins by Lalah Hathaway, for the highly acclaimed "Lalah Hathaway Live!” In 2016 he was also a part of the history making "Bad Boy 20 Year Reunion Tour," featuring almost all of the legendary artists of Bad Boy Entertainment. The same year Stacey was on the Grammy Nominated Christmas album of Earth Wind & Fire.
His first solo album, Give The Drumma’ Sum, will be out later this year, along with the debut full length album of his widely popular trio, "McKinley, Martin & Sydnor.” The trio has toured South America twice, and is now preparing for festivals and a European run after the success of their EP Release, Time. The trio’s single, “Man In The Mirror,” is doing well on various radio and media outlets as well.
Stacey Lamont Sydnor is still currently touring with a variety of artists, including The Jacksons, Ice Cube & others, while still producing & recording for film and TV.
